Hello, we're UW
We’re a bunch of great people working together, solving problems and having fun. Together, we strive to find solutions to help the great people around us get on with the things that really matter in life.
How? It’s simple, we take the headache out of essential home services by providing them all in one place – energy, broadband, mobile, and even insurance. That’s one provider, one account, one bill, and lots of savings.
We’re a truly unique FTSE 250 company with a business model that has real social impact at the heart of it. Being a part of the UW community you’ll join a working environment like no other - one where everyone matters - be it our customers, our partners or you, our people.
We're here to help people get on top of their UW bills, by acting as the point of contact for customers who have fallen into our debt process - and provide solutions to get them back on track.
About the role
This is a very hands-on role and not one for the faint-hearted. No two customers, problems, or resolution journeys are the same. You will be empowered to provide customers with support, advice and the peace of mind that their current issue can be resolved.
What you'll do
- Receiving inbound calls from our customers, the wider call centre and 3rd party collection agents regarding accounts which have fallen into our debt process
- Conducting outbound calls where required to customers and other 3rd parties to resolve accounts
- Working with others in your team to investigate accounts and decide on best solutions
- Taking ownership of your assigned work and ensuring this is completed within the agreed SLAs
- Offering repayment options to customers who are in arrears, which are inline with both our internal policies and OFGEM's ability to pay principles
- Identifying vulnerable customers and offering additional support to them - including referrals to citizens advice or debt charities where appropriate.
About you
We're looking for someone with strong customer service experience that feels satisfaction from resolving a customer issue
- You’ll need experience of working in a debt collection role
- You’ll need to be a caring and compassionate individual, empathetic with people in tough situations
- You’ll need great customer service skills with a natural ability to build rapport
- You’ll need the ability to take ownership of a problem and see it through to resolution
- You’ll need to be someone who loves to think differently about problems of all types, challenges assumptions, and throws themselves into creating new solutions
Don’t forget though, you’ll need to be eligible to live and work in the UK.
What's in it for you
Join a high growth FTSE 250 business and help us achieve our ambitions whilst learning and having fun. Become part of a fantastic business culture where people really are at the heart of everything we do.

- Always avoid job vacancies that charge fees during the recruitment process, because looking for work is actually an attempt to find and get paid, and not to be collected.
