Data Scientist
About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments
- Excellent programming skills in Python
- Excellent analytical skills to map real world problems and questions to technologically feasible approaches
- Excellent at defining metrics to measure the success of approaches and solutions
- Great communication skills, a natural collaborator with a proactive, positive attitude
- Proven hands on experience with machine learning in the context of NLP problems and real world data sets
- You are eager to learn about both technological progress as well as domain knowledge in the context of the problems you are solving
- Bachelor’s degree in software engineering
It would be great if you also had
- Industry experience in AI, machine learning and NLP
- Experience in collaborating with stakeholders from Management, Product Development, Sales, Operations
- Experience in taking ownership of a data science problem from data acquisition to deployment
- Master's degree or PhD with a thesis in machine learning
What will you be doing in this role?
Core responsibilities for this role are tied strongly to the aforementioned skills: you’ll collaborate with team members but also with stakeholders from a wide range of business groups to judge the feasibility of ideas and help take feasible ideas all the way from gathering and preprocessing data to deployed, monitored solutions integrated into actual products.
Product you will be developing
We are working on a wide range of products involving search, predictive and other analytics, as well as decision support. You’ll be helping out with new, state of the art solutions to improve the tools that help both internal and external customers drive innovation at major companies.
About the Team
The team consists of mainly data scientists, engineers and data science specific product managers that serve every group and/or business unit within Clarivate. That means you can either go very deep in solving problems in particular business domains or cover a wide range of domains as you solve problems for various business units. The team has a strong focus on collaboration, openness, knowledge sharing and helping each other out. The team is also truly global, with members in various parts of the world including Belgium, Spain, United States, Canada and China. Working remotely is perfectly ok.
